One Faith

 

Jude 3-4- “Beloved, although I was very eager to write to you about our common salvation, I found it necessary to write appealing to you to contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints. 4 For certain people have crept in unnoticed who long ago were designated for this condemnation, ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into sensuality and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.”

 

 

1- Embrace the Faith

I Corinthians 15:1-4- “Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, 2 and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you—unless you believed in vain. 3 For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures.”

KEY TRUTH ***There is only one Gospel.***

2- Grow in Faith, Maturity, and Unity

Ephesians 4:11-13- “And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, 12 to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, 13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood.”

 

KEY TRUTH ***Unity comes from a shared commitment to the “one faith” and to our spiritual growth.

3- Live Worthy of the Faith

Philippians 1:27- “Only let your manner of life be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of you that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving side by side for the faith of the gospel.”

KEY TRUTH *** Our lives should be a testimony of the truth that we profess

4- Remain Rooted in the Faith

Colossians 2:6-7- “Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, 7 rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.”

KEY TRUTH ***The Truth that saved you in the past is the same truth that sustains you in the present.

 

 

5- Contend for the Faith

Jude 3-4- “Beloved, although I was very eager to write to you about our common salvation, I found it necessary to write appealing to you to contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints. 4 [Why was it necessary to write] For certain people have crept in unnoticed who long ago were designated for this condemnation, ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into sensuality and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.”

 

KEY TRUTH ***A Gospel that is believed and loved will be a Gospel that is defended.
