Saved to Serve

I Peter 4:7-11

  1. Serving is not optional, it’s your calling.

Vs. 10a- “As each has received (past tense) a gift, use it to serve one another, …”

  1. Serving is a stewardship, not a suggestion.

Vs. 10b- “As each has received (past tense) a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace.”

  1. Serving is empowered by God, not you.

Vs. 11a- “whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies…”

  1. Serving brings God glory, not you.

Vs. 11b- “…in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.”

  1. Serving is an expression of love, not an obligation

Vs. 8-9- “Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins. Show hospitality to one another without grumbling.”
